Nataly from Santa Monica, United StatesAnother great idea, Mike. This series is an amazingly creative and unique. The execution on this one is superb! Bravo! Can`t wait to see more from you. 21 Jul 2008 6:13am @Nataly: Thanks. The next couple of pictures won't be completed for another 3 weeks or so due to holidays. I've got most the photos taken I need to complete them but still have to drag my very tolerant friends out for another shoot (or two). dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Stateswow - -reminds me of the chess battle scene in the first Harry Potter film! :) great PP work here and an excellently creative idea. bravo! 21 Jul 2008 6:46am @dj.tigersprout: Thanks DJ. Having never watched or read the Harry Potter films/books I wasn't aware of a chess battle. My kids have the film so maybe I'll check it out. Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceVery strange but interesting scene... and a good creation & post traitement work Mike !! 21 Jul 2008 10:14am Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaA really wonderful and unusual image. So intriguing! 21 Jul 2008 11:25am Kate from Newcastle, AustraliaThis is truly cool Mike. 21 Jul 2008 12:08pm @Ana Lúcia: You're not the first one to say that. I must watch the film. zOOm from Paris, FranceAlthough the Led Zep song title is appropriate (makes me think of those medieval battles) I like this composite picture, very well done ! A photoshop master ! :-) 21 Jul 2008 4:38pm @zOOm: The idea behind the picture was a battle between man and nature. I took the photo of the forest and then set the chess board to fit in. I wanted to depict a scene where the trees checkmated the King. King being the world leaders. I'm glad you picked up on the Zep title. I couldn't think of a more appropriate title even though it had been used before. My interpretation is slightly different to theirs so I feel OK about it :) Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainI like very much the composition you have created here, and the b/n. 21 Jul 2008 6:29pm @Paco Díaz: Thanks for your kind comment. i was trying to create something that made people stop and think. Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomAn exceptional one Mike, very well put together. Great work. 22 Jul 2008 11:50am Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomThe chess board is on the slant, why is the pawn not running off, must be a piece of blue tack underneath. Interesting though. Also which part of the scene is in focus, is it the King? 24 Jul 2008 9:09am @Peter Miller: You can play chess can't you? I'll leave it to you to figure out the meaning behind the picture. Diane from Burnsville, United StatesThis is beyone inventive so out of the box. I love it. 7 Sep 2009 2:54pm |
