The kids are back to school tomorrow so as ever it's a last minute rush to finish off all their homework.
EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United Kingdom
This has such a timeless feel, Mike. Lava lamps were the latest craze back in the early seventies, and in mono, this photograph feels so retro. I can remember family gatherings where we sat around staring in wonder as the globules rose and fell (hey, no Playstation 3 back then!). Wonderfully observed, a really terrific image

Yes the house is so quiet now. My oldest went back to his post in Georgia, my middle son still has a couple of weeks before he returns to his dorm and my youngest is back in school as of Monday. The stillness is really lonely now.
This is a charming and nostalgic shot. Nicely done.

@bluechameleon: Don't be fooled. She was trying not to laugh. The photo was about retake number 10 and I was virtually standing on my head.... That's why things are slightly on the slant. I've since corrected that in Photoshop though :)

@Anthony Lambert: She has indeed. This one is my youngest daughter. My eldest is the one wearing the Christmas hat from a few days ago.

I love the clutter. Makes it feel like she's really rushing to get stuff done. I really like the angle you took this at. I love the light the lava lamp gives off and how it illuminates her face and the bed behind her. It's a perfect story telling image. Great work.
