I think I have seen this before but cant quite remember, the colours are complimentary and ones eyes are immediately drawn to the orange of the castle wall. As ever it is a pity that there are cars there but it must be near impossible not to capture them. Without the cars it would look great framed on ya wall.

@Peter Miller: It's one of the main car parks in Carnarvon and so there always seems to be cars there. If I'd thought about it I would have stepped back a bit and zoomed in more to try and reduce the converging lines of the castle wall but we were in a bit of a rush to get back to the campsite to light the bbq. A valuable lesson was learnt that night; If the conditions are right for some cracking photos then put everything else on hold until you're satisfied you've captured what you want. In my portfolio is another shot from the same night taken from across the water. That one was my favourite photo and since uploading it I've increased the contrast slightly and made a few other minor adjustments and I'm now a lot happier with it.
Nicely lit shot, love the mix of artificial and natural light.

@Richard_Irwin: Thanks Richard.
Great golden light over that castle - i do agree with Richard about the efficient marriage of 2 kinds of lights ~

@k@: Thanks K@. I never really thought about that when I was taking the photo. I just looked up as I was walking back to the car (mine's the one closest in the foreground) and wanted to capture the wonderful site I was looking up at. I'd already taken what I thought were the best shots of the castle so this one was a surprise bonus when I uploaded it to my pc.
Beautiful lighting on the wall and that sky WOW!

@Observing: Cheers Mike. There's so many opportunities for great photos around the castle. Changing the subject a bit, in that castle I proudly lay claim to making lo...... No I won't go there. But all I'll say is, if the place is good enough for the King then it's good enough for me :)
The light is gorgeous here.
